Quests, XP and rewards

Quests are challenges inside the YOM app that reward you for participating in the network. Complete one and you earn XP, and for some quests, an allocation of $YOM. This page explains what quests are, where to find them, the difference between XP and token rewards, and the rules that keep the system fair.

what quests are

A quest is a defined challenge with a defined reward. The rotation changes over time, but quests generally fall into a few families:

• Play quests: play a number of sessions, try a specific game, come back on consecutive days
• Referral quests: bring friends onto the network (see the referral program for how attribution works)
• Community quests: social and ecosystem tasks, like engaging with YOM content or joining community events
• Operator quests: for node runners. Host for a streak, keep uptime high, complete your rig check

Each quest states its own requirement and its own reward up front. There’s no hidden scoring. If a quest says “play 5 sessions this week,” completing 5 sessions completes the quest.

where to find them

Quests live in the Quests section of app.yom.net. Sign in, open Quests, and you’ll see the active rotation: what each quest asks, what it pays, and your progress toward it. Completed quests get marked as claimable; expired ones rotate out.

Progress tracking is automatic for on-network activity (sessions, referrals, hosting). You don’t submit proof of a play session. The network already knows.

XP vs token rewards

The two reward types do different jobs, and it’s worth understanding the difference:

XP is progression. Every quest awards XP. It accumulates on your account, never gets spent, and determines your rank. XP is not a token: it can’t be traded, transferred, or converted to $YOM. Think of it as your reputation score on the network: proof of sustained participation.

$YOM is money. Some quests, not all, carry a token allocation on top of the XP. These come from the Quests & Mindshare allocation in the token distribution: 0.40% of total supply, 3 million tokens, reserved specifically for active community rewards. Like every allocation, it follows the published vesting schedule, so quest-earned tokens unlock on the timeline defined there rather than all at once.

We don’t publish a fixed XP-per-quest table here because the rotation changes; the app always shows the current reward on each quest card.

claiming token rewards

XP credits automatically the moment you complete a quest. Token rewards require an explicit claim:

1. Open the Quests section in the app
2. Find the completed quest with a claim button
3. Click claim and sign the transaction in your wallet
4. Tokens arrive within a minute

the leaderboard

XP feeds the public leaderboard, which ranks participants by total XP earned. Climb high enough and your rank carries a title. Node operators currently dominate the top of the board (hosting is steady XP), but play and community quests count toward the same total.

The leaderboard is a long game. Consistent participation beats bursts: someone completing quests every week will pass someone who grinded one weekend and left.

fair play

Quest rewards come from a fixed, finite allocation, so gaming the system takes tokens from people participating honestly. We treat that seriously. Things that get accounts removed:

• Self-referral: creating secondary wallets to complete referral quests with yourself
• Botting sessions: scripted or idle “play” sessions to farm play quests
• Multi-accounting: splitting activity across accounts to double-claim quest rewards

The network has full telemetry on sessions and referral chains, and suspicious patterns are checked before large claims settle. Removed accounts forfeit unclaimed rewards. The clean path is boring and effective: play things you actually want to play, refer people who actually have qualifying hardware, and let the XP accumulate.
