Claiming and receiving $YOM

Operator rewards settle automatically. Quest rewards, launchpad allocations, and other distributions need a claim. Here's how each works.

$YOM flows to your wallet from a few different sources. Operator rewards land automatically. Quest rewards, NFT-gated drops, and launchpad allocations require an explicit claim from your end. Here’s how each one works and what to expect.

operator rewards: automatic, no claim

If you run a YOM node, the 40% operator share from each session settles to your wallet without you doing anything. The settlement contract runs roughly once every 24 hours, sums the pending earnings across all your sessions, and emits an on-chain transfer.

What this looks like on your end:

  • Open your wallet, you’ll see incoming $YOM transfers tagged with the settlement contract as the sender
  • Open Snowtrace, search your wallet address, you’ll see the same transactions
  • Open the YOM app Earnings page, “pending” decreases and “this month” increases when a batch lands

You don’t sign anything, you don’t approve anything, you don’t pay gas. The network covers gas on the settlement side. Your only job is have a wallet that can receive ERC-20 on Avalanche C-Chain.

quest rewards: claim from the YOM app

The YOM app has a Quests section with rotating challenges (play 5 sessions, refer a friend, host for 30 days, etc.). Some give you XP, some give $YOM, some give a non-fungible reward.

To claim a $YOM quest reward:

  1. Open Quests in the YOM app
  2. Find the completed quest (green checkmark or “claim” button)
  3. Click claim
  4. Sign the transaction in your wallet
  5. Tokens arrive in 1-2 block confirmations (under a minute)

Unlike operator rewards, quest claims require you to pay gas (a fraction of an AVAX cent) since they’re individually triggered transactions, not batched protocol settlements.

launchpad / NFT-gated distributions

Periodically the network runs launchpad rounds or token-allocation events for specific cohorts (early NFT holders, KOL partners, etc.). These typically work as:

  1. Eligibility is checked against your wallet (NFT held, quest completed, sale participated in)
  2. A claim window opens for a fixed period
  3. You go to a claim page inside the YOM app or app.yom.net/launchpad
  4. Click claim, sign transaction, receive tokens

Each round announces its own claim window, contract, and conditions. Always verify the claim URL matches app.yom.net exactly before signing anything.

what to do if a payout looks wrong

If your operator earnings dashboard shows different numbers than what’s in your wallet, or a payout is missing:

  1. Check the settlement schedule. Pending balances accumulate before the batch runs. If you’ve earned today but no payout has hit your wallet, it’ll appear in the next ~24h batch.
  2. Check the wallet address. If you signed in with a different wallet at some point (different browser, different device, recovered seed), your earnings might be sitting under the other wallet. Each wallet address has its own host list and earnings.
  3. Check Snowtrace. Settlement transfers from the contract are public. If they’re not arriving at your wallet, the issue is either an address mismatch on our side or your wallet has a token-display issue.

If after those three checks you still see a mismatch, reach out via the contact page with your wallet address and the session range in question. We have full telemetry on every settlement and can usually identify the gap within an hour.

protecting your claim

Two pieces of common sense:

  • Never share your seed phrase with anyone claiming to “help you claim”. Real YOM claim flows happen inside app.yom.net, signed with your wallet, and never ask for your seed.
  • Never sign blind transactions. Read what the wallet popup is asking you to approve before clicking. A claim transaction will be a simple “claim” function call on a known YOM contract. Anything more exotic, walk away.

Scams in this space lean heavily on urgency (“claim NOW or lose your tokens”). Real network payouts have no urgency: they’re automatic, on a schedule, and don’t require a panicked click.
