My wallet won't connect

Particle Network sign-in failing, getting stuck on the captcha, or producing the wrong wallet address. Fixes for each.

YOM uses Particle Network as the wallet-aggregator for sign-in. Most issues with wallet connection trace back to one of: browser state, captcha challenge, or a wallet that’s already in use by another session. Work through these in order.

the sign-in button doesn’t do anything

You click sign in, but the wallet popup never appears.

  • Allow popups for app.yom.net in your browser. Most browsers block popups by default; the wallet flow uses one.
  • Try a different browser. Chrome, Edge, and Brave handle Particle’s flow reliably. Safari and Firefox occasionally have issues with the iframe-based wallet popup.
  • Disable ad blockers / privacy extensions temporarily. Some block the Particle SDK initialization.
  • Hard refresh (Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R). Cached state from a previous failed sign-in can break subsequent attempts.

the captcha won’t pass

Particle uses hCaptcha as anti-bot protection. Sometimes it gets stuck.

  • Click the checkbox again. If it asked you to solve an image puzzle, complete it and click verify.
  • Switch from VPN / proxy to a direct connection. hCaptcha often flags VPN exit nodes as suspicious and rejects all checks from them.
  • Wait 30 seconds and retry. After a failed captcha, Particle has a short cooldown before allowing another attempt.

wrong wallet address shows up

You signed in successfully but the wallet address on your profile isn’t the one you expected.

Particle creates a wallet per sign-in method. If you signed in with Google last time and Apple this time, you’ll get different wallet addresses. Both are valid, both are yours, but they’re separate accounts on the network.

To go back to your original wallet:

  1. Click your profile / address in the top right
  2. Click disconnect
  3. Click sign in again, and choose the same method you used originally (Google, Apple, MetaMask, whatever it was)

The original wallet address should come back. If it doesn’t, see “I lost access to my wallet” below.

the wallet popup shows “session already exists”

Particle is preventing two tabs from using the same wallet at once.

  • Close other tabs / windows that have app.yom.net open
  • Refresh the current page

”user rejected request” in MetaMask

You clicked sign in and MetaMask asked you to sign a message, but you clicked Reject instead of Sign.

  • Click sign in again
  • Read the message MetaMask shows (it should say “Sign in to YOM” or similar)
  • Click Sign

This signature is how Particle verifies you control the wallet. It doesn’t approve any transaction or move any funds, it’s a free off-chain proof.

I lost access to my original wallet

This is the worst case. If you signed in with a wallet you no longer control, the network sees the new sign-in as a different identity and your old hosts / earnings are tied to the old wallet.

Specific scenarios:

  • Lost MetaMask seed phrase: there is no way to recover. The seed phrase is the only thing that proves ownership. This is why YOM emphasizes backup at account creation.
  • Lost access to the Google / Apple account you used for social login: Particle inherits the recovery flow of the social provider. Use Google’s / Apple’s account recovery to regain access to the social account, then sign in again. The same wallet will return.
  • Bought a new device and reinstalled the wallet: as long as you have the seed phrase or social account credentials, you can recover.

If you have hosts and earnings tied to a wallet you can no longer access, contact us. We can’t move the assets (only the wallet’s owner can do that), but we can sometimes help with identity-based remediation if you have other proof (early Discord activity, original purchase invoice).

sign-in works but no hosts show up

You signed in to the right wallet but My hosts is empty when it shouldn’t be.

  • Wait 10 seconds and refresh. The hosts API call can lag briefly.
  • Try a different browser. If hosts appear there, your current browser has cached an empty response. Clear app.yom.net data.
  • Confirm you’re signed in to the same wallet that registered the NANO. Check the wallet address in the top right against the address that owns the node licenses.

If hosts genuinely don’t appear after a clean refresh in a clean browser, the NANO claim might not have completed during setup. Go through step 3 of Setting up your NANO again.

one note on security

YOM never asks for your seed phrase or private key, anywhere, for any reason. If anything anywhere on yom.net, app.yom.net, or in a YOM-branded email asks for them: it’s not us.
