Playing a YOM game

YOM streams AAA games from a global network of edge nodes straight to your browser. You click play, the network finds a nearby host, and within a few seconds the game is running. No installing anything first. This page walks through what to expect the first time.
what you need
The bar is low.
- A modern browser: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox, or Safari on macOS / iOS. All of them support the WebRTC streaming protocol YOM uses.
- A wired internet connection (or strong Wi-Fi): 15-30 Mbps download is enough. The lower your latency to the nearest YOM host, the better the experience. Wired or 5 GHz Wi-Fi beats 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- A keyboard and mouse (or controller for some games): plug them into the device you’re playing on like normal. YOM’s player forwards input transparently.
You do not need:
- A high-end GPU. The streaming happens on a remote node, not your machine.
- An account or sign-in. Most demos are open. Some publisher integrations may ask you to log in to their service.
- A specific OS. Anything that runs a modern browser works, including Chromebooks and tablets.
how to start a session

- Click any game tile that’s marked playable right now
- The YOM player opens in a modal. The first 3-8 seconds are container spin-up time on the host node, you’ll see a loading state
- The game appears in your browser. Click anywhere to capture pointer focus and start playing
That’s it. You’re streaming a real game from a real GPU somewhere in the world, with input flowing back from your keyboard.
what to expect during the session
A few things you’ll notice that are different from playing on a local PC:
- Latency feels almost local but not quite. On a healthy network with low-latency coverage in your region, the round trip is 30-50 ms. That’s faster than you can perceive in most genres. In twitchy esports games (CS, Valorant) trained players may notice it.
- Audio is in-sync with video. Both stream over the same WebRTC channel. There’s no separate audio config.
- Save data lives in the host’s container. It depends on the game and the publisher’s integration. Most demos start fresh each session. AAA-game launches with proper studio integration will preserve cloud saves.
- Fullscreen works. Press
For hit the fullscreen icon in the player UI. The browser will full-screen the player and the game keeps running.
what changes session-to-session
The YOM network routes you to the best available host at the moment you start. If the same host has free capacity next time, you might land on it again. If not, you’ll get a different host. Either way the game and the saves (if the publisher syncs them) are the same.
You might also see different latency from session to session. Within your region, latency to the nearest host can vary as host availability changes throughout the day. Evenings (more hosts online) typically have more options to pick from.
what to do if it doesn’t work
The most common issues and quick fixes are in Troubleshooting: stream lag and connection issues.
If you can’t get the player to open at all, your browser may have an extension blocking the WebRTC connection. Try an incognito / private window first.
why this is different from other cloud-gaming services
Briefly, because you’ll wonder:
- No subscription. YOM is pay-per-session at the network level, funded by the games’ tokenomics, not by your monthly fee.
- Latency is structurally lower because the GPUs are at the edge (in someone’s gaming PC, often in your city) rather than in a far-away data center.

- Coverage is geographic, not centralized. If you’re in a well-covered region (NL, UK, ES, US-East, AU at TGE), expect a great experience. Other regions improve as the network grows.
